Didn't like serenity?

I don't really think that is the case. She Loves it. Every bit of it. Every character. Every single one. Hell, if the little twit in the bowler showed up and he got one in the gonads, she would cringe. Sure he was a loathesome little toad, but still, what a cool, loathesome little toad. Losing any character would have sucked.

And it ramped up the anxiety for the rest of the characters. You were not really sure who was going to be the next victim. It would be like the FCC actually fining Oprah for discussing masturbation because Howeard Stern also discusses masturbation. Sure she is Beloved, but NO ONE IS SAFE FROM THE FCC, if you get my meaning.

See, that doesn't happen in OUR world, so we get really pissed when it happens in another.

Interesting. Somewhat accurate. Puppy soup indeed.

But my initial reaction is to get up from the table, go stick that soup in the microwave, and once it's nice and mcdonald's-coffee-hot, pour it down Joss Whedon's pants.

Then beat his mother to death with the spoon.

I may be calmer about this later. I might even forgive him.

Maybe.

I *like* stories that hurt. I like a writer who isn't afraid to take risks. I even, to a certain extent, understand why things played out the way they did. I read Bob Heinlein, for God's sake.

But I am very angry right *now.*

Guess which character in Firefly reminds me of Dave? Go on, guess.

It was a really great, fantastic, wonderful movie until about 2/3rds of the way through. After that it was a great, fantastic, wonderful movie that I really wished I could enjoy.

Bleh.

Joss Whedon kills.

I loved it. Jess is ready to visit the sin back onto Joss, and has said she won't watch anything else in the Firefly 'verse after The Event.
I hated The Event. But I loved the movie, and Joss Whedon can kiss my ass for doing that...but...damn.

I have opted to reserve judgement until I calm down.

It was a nasty thing to do. The one, I somewhat expected. The other... I did not. (And I admit, I'm a little annoyed with my friends for NOT spoiling that one for me. If I had known or suspected that this would happen, I wouldn't have gone to see the movie on the SUNDAY OF ARCHON WEEKEND with little sleep and no emotional strength left. I was torn right to pieces. In public.)

It was spoiled for me, and I was still torn right to pieces. And wathcing the grieving process go for my friends...Jess went into denial and then anger...we'll see where it ends up.

WHY DO I NEVER UNDERSTAND REFERENCES THAT YOU PEOPLE DISCUSS?

Because you don't watch the movies and read the books that we do?

My non-rant is aimed at Joss Whedon regarding his new movie Serenity.
