Glamour and Glitter, Fashion and Fame...
Aug. 13th, 2005 12:52 pm(sigh). Wheee!!! We pulled it off!
The play is over. I think I'll take a break until next spring, unless we can get grant money sooner.
Turns out that the Celtic Heritage festival-which snubbed us in a very nasty way last year-is back under the old management... and they are working pretty hard to court us and bring us back again.
So, once things settle down here, I'll see what I can do to set that up.
In the mean time, the show worked just fine, everyone did a great job and I am proud of my cast and crew. To the following people, I offer my most sincere thanks. You did way more than I expected you to have to do, and made things so much easier and neater for the rest of us. And LORD! I didn't expect to have to wash DISHES! But that's what comes from having too few dishes available. Which comes from not having a large enough budget. And having not sold enough tickets.
But I digress.
The following people completely rock and deserve to be recognized in a (semi) public forum: And YES, I am going to use your REAL NAMES:
Brad Hicks
Dave Burnette
Mari Blair
Steve Swope
Cathy Swope
Britt Eubanks (Who not only paid full price to come see the show, but helped with serving and clean-up and break-down.)
The Other Steve (Sorry. Didn't get a last name on him...)
Without these people, I never could have managed this monstrosity. Bow before them, give them praise and candy, and stare in AWE.
Not to leave anyone out, read my last post for the list of actors. Of course, that doesn't include the actors who have no LJ handle, but if you want to know who was in it, get a program.
My actors completely rocked. Despite set problems, wardrobe malfunctions, serious injuries, tonsillitis, dropped lines, and everyone's FAMILY staring at them, every one of my actors put in a stunning performance. We got great feedback and several people wanted to know when the next one was. (Heh. we'll see.)
Alien Zen Productions provided music and background noise. It turned out very well, especially since he had to work under less than ideal conditions and didn't get a full run-through with the cast.
That's all for now. Expect posts that don't involve plays for a while.
