Recruitment flyer
Jan. 17th, 2005 10:00 pmHey there.
I am putting together the 2005 schedule for the troupe and I thought I would put out an open call for bodies for a few of our events:
A Fey in Forest Park:
I need extras for this film project. I am particularly interested in extras with costumes from any era starting with 1860s and going through to the present. People with "ren faire gear" are also invited to participate, as I would like to have a group of "re-enactors" to make an appearance. Commitment: Appearing on filming days, which will be scheduled soon. We're looking at February for filming the part where we need extras. We may push into March if things don't go as planned. (And they won't. Everything always takes longer than it takes, right?)
No payment, except for my gratitude and the experience. All extras will be credited. If this thing really takes off, we might have a budget for the next film, at which point I will offer the extras from this one first dibs on parts for the second film.
Costumed Appearances:
I haven't nailed this one down yet, but I want to have some very commercially acceptable, Barbie-like Faeries to make an appearance at a local toy store to promote the release of the Fairytopia DVD in April.
No details yet, but I will attempt to negotiate a store credit (or a payment) for each character. I am going to attempt to recreate the Barbie Fairytopia costumes for this one, so I'm looking for women and girls, primarily. Actors will also get to keep their costumes. Actors will be responsible for their own wigs (which I can order for them at cost.)
I have a secondary group that makes costumed character appearances for Harry Potter events called "Dumbledore's Army." The DA is always interested in fellow costumed Harry Potter Cannon friends. We made an appearance at Border's to promote the release of book 5. (My picture was in the local paper, BTW.)
There's a new book coming out in June, so I am going to try to set up another appearance at a local bookstore. We'd love some additional characters (so that we can give each of the characters a break "backstage" without removing all the characters from the floor.)
Payment will be in the form of the hardback edition of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince." On the day of its release, which is pretty cool. If you want to make the appearance and don't need that book, you will get equivalent store credit.
Feel free to spread the word, we want to have large quantities of actors for these gigs. Feel free to leave me a comment with contact info if you are interested in any of the above.

Date: 2005-01-18 04:34 am (UTC)I live to serve, just let me know if/how you need me.
Hmm.
Date: 2005-01-18 07:44 pm (UTC)The other two projects, however, are the kind of thing that you DO have the right look for. Do you have a HP character in mind?
And for the Fey In Forest Park, I need LOTS of randomly shaped people, so you would definately help a lot with that. What kind of costumes do you have? (It would be really cool if you had something from the 70's, since I want an assortment of "eras" from the 20th century.
And you could always wear your kilt and be one of the "rennies" who wanders through.
Re: Hmm.
Date: 2005-01-18 07:54 pm (UTC)OK, maybe not. :-)
I don't have a lot in the way of costumes...rennie kilt, modern kilt, utilikilt (noticing a pattern?), big red velvet coat and enormous hat with plumes on pirate or highwayman guy (usually worn with leather pants and thigh high boots, but who knows what else I might come up with....)
the seventies, eh? *shudder*....Nothing comes to mind....
as for HP, I am kinda like a blonde hagrid, really.....though I could be any kind of generic stern professor...but I am without appropriate clothing. Given some direction, I could probably get something made in plenty of time for June (I'm not THAT bad with the sewing machine, after all.....)
Re: Hmm.
Date: 2005-01-18 09:07 pm (UTC)Our cast currently consists of:
Professors Dumbledore, McGonnagal, Trelawney, Snape, Sinistra, Flitwick, "Mad Eye" Moody, Umbrige, Sprout, and Quirrell. We also have Madame Pomfrey, The Portrait Lady, Moaning Myrtle, Hagrid, Malfoy (in Quidditch gear) and etc. Our Quirrell will most likely have his new "Lucius Malfoy" costume in time for this event, so that leave the "Quirrell" spot open.
We don't have many ghosts other than Myrtle. We don't have all of the professors. We don't have any "Family" members such as the Weasley parents, or Harry's muggle family. We don't have many students, although we do occasionally have Harry and Hermione, and Ron.
There are other characters that come and go, and if you have someone in mind, I think we can work out a costume for you.
I'd love to have a Mr. Filtch. ("God I miss the screamin'")

You can always prattle on about said daughter. I would read it, honestly!
I would love to have you guys in on the film project. Call me later...

Date: 2005-01-23 04:14 am (UTC)And my mother used to tell me not to say anything if it wasn't constructive. Which is why I am not currently writing a journal, although I like reading what is going on with my friends. I just can't see how rants about accounting, diaper rash, potty training and temper tantrums would be particularly constructive, for me or anyone else.
