Seasoned greetings
Dec. 22nd, 2004 09:40 pmDarn that vietnamese place right to HECK!
They told me that they would not be using any MSG in my food, but I think that they LIED. Lie monkey!
My poor butt.
In other news, Papa is doing well. He's home, going up and down stairs, sitting up for long periods of time, etc.
Also, Papa is really easy to deal with while on heavy painkillers. Some of his filters are just plain gone, and this is a powerfully wonderful thing. Now, he prattles on. Prattles ON! Any random thought that flits into his head comes right out of his mouth.
This is bad (but good at the same time) because he's a non-sequitor kinda guy. The topography of his mind is just as unusual as I have suspected all these years.
This is good because he communicates things freely and easily. He also communicates his emotions freely, but not as easily. I don't think that will ever be easy for him. I was particularly amused by his sudden thought that he might have left something behind at the hospital. It was the fabric "card" that I made him while at work, which says "Get Well Soon, Papa" inside a heart shape, and "Love Kukla" at the bottom. (Really. Kukla is, after all, my "real" name.) Around the edges I put a decorative stitch in the shape of little alligators. So, right in the middle of a sentence, he put the phone down, talked to my StepMom, found out where the item was, and then told me (somewhat triumphantly) that he had it in his left hand and was "kind-of stroking it with" his "thumb." He likes it a lot, and *told* me so. I pointed out that I briefly considered redoing the alligators because I couldn't get them to behave and come out identical, then thought better of it because I kind of liked that they were all different. He agreed and chuckled that their personalities were apparent and that he liked them this way much better.
He always did appreciate individuality.
I think Papa should take drugs more often. He's a pretty cool guy this way. My Mom is pretty funny when she's on drugs, but I wouldn't like to see her like that all the time. (Snort. Provoke me, and find out what her wedding this spring was like... with the bride on Vicadin.)
