I think our first BJD convention went very well!

We had a lot of fun and the committee worked very hard. I'm very tired but now we get to go to the ZOO!

Our guests were simply amazing. Sarah Seiter was a lot of fun and very sweet,despite her broken foot. Her mother is a darling woman, too.
Connie Lowe and her friend were a delightful surprise. We had added her at the last minute because Paulette Goodreau requested it, and Paulette was our headliner. Since Paulette had to cancel at the last minute, Connie stepped in and was a perfect Secret Extra Special Guest. Her shoe workshop was just fabulous.
And then there's Alison Rasmussen. She is one of the coolest people I've ever met, and all of you are well aware that that's a HIGH bar. She was a little overawed that we treated her like a Guest of Honor, but she has two books out and a very successful online magazine, plus she is funny, glib, charming, and wonderful. Nothing would please me more than to get Archon to award her Guest status and get her out here!

Yes, we're going to keep doing this. Yes, we are interested in additional committee and staff. Yes, I've lost my mind.

But in the future, the amount of actual prep work is going to slow down and become reasonable. With enough of the right people, this will run like a well-oiled machine and we will each have fewer things to keep track of.

Oh. And our fund-raiser auction pulled in a yard of potatoes. Boo-Ya!
