More greed? Really?
Aug. 3rd, 2012 04:10 pmIt occurs to me that there are things that belong on my Birthday Greed List that I neglected to mention, so here it goes:
Online Goodies!
Do you hate to shop? Do you know that I have too much stuff and you fear adding to my Hoard?
Here are some virtual goodies you can offer as a gift that would be super-appreciated:
Upgrade My Account:
I'm here on LJ, and I like having the upgraded account, though I never really have the budget for such a luxury.
Ditto for Flickr and Photobucket. (if you don't know who I am there, send me an LJ message.)
Donate to my efforts:
I do have a Paypal account, and I periodically will put up a button in this journal. I always cheerfully accept donations. You can even earmark what the money should be applied to, such as Visiting The Significant Other, Archon Expenses, Party Money, or Just Spoil Yourself; don't use this for bills!
I also have a Kickstarter going to raise money for our BJD convention. I'm going to level with you, true believers; while every doll person in St. Louis wanted to have a BJD convention, I'm the driving force behind this project. This is the only time I am going to bring that little secret up online, period. Going forward and in all official capacities, I'm just the Assistant Chairman and Guest Liason. However, it's my pet project and I desperately want for it to succeed. Just cross-posting the Kickstarter link and helping me go viral with the silly thing would be a great help to me and costs you nothing. You can even just donate money and refuse the gifts if the doll things don't appeal to you, though the custom embroidered patches are a great idea for non-doll folks: I'm perfectly willing to do geeky phrases instead of doll-oriented ones. Oh, and did I mention that your favorite artist is the one who did the mountain of work to put that Kickstarter together? Having a wildly successful Kickstarter in her resume can only help her...

Social Networking:
No, I don't mean Facebook, at least directly. What I mean is that if you have a good connection to share with me for my new Embroidery Business, that puts money in my pocket. I'm gearing up for a full launch very VERY soon, but in the mean time little jobs (and potentially larger jobs) are going to help me fund the last few pieces of equipment and contracting that I need in order to get this puppy MOVING forward. So if you know of a business that could use embroidered items, someone who would like some custom digitizing for embroidery (even if they don't want me to do the actual stitch-outs) or someone who just wants to hire an expert to help them with their embroidery, let me know. Share my contact info (email is best) or share the potential customers' names with me.
Also falling under this category are other informational nuggets: I like to support local business when possible and I'm starting a new business. Do you know a completely awesome printing company? (My local printer is far away these days. *waves*) I'd like to get some price sheets printed, as well as business cards and other promotional materials. I do NOT want to send away for them online, as I really do want to network with the locals for this stuff.
Don't be afraid to find something purely virtual to "gift" me with. Non-tangible things are valuable and add to my treasures without requiring room in my treasure-chest (as it were).
