So Birthday Month is just around the corner, and we're two months out from my own.

Just in case, here is my Do Want/Do Not Want list:

Do Want:
A corner cabinet for the kitchen. This is an important piece and I simply don't have the time to do the legwork on this. I'd like a deal, so even just doing the legwork for me and presenting me with price comparisons and snapshots of the options out there would be a huge help.

Food Gift Cards: I don't know if Seafood City or China Town Market give gift certificates, but other places that translate as money in my pocket: Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Aldi. Quicktrip cards are also always welcome, particularly since I will still have extensive road trips ahead of me to visit my Sig Other.

Consumables: Saffron. Toilet paper. Paper towels. Himalayan Sea Salt. Lush products such as "New" shampoo bars, "R&B" leave-in conditioner, and any of their non-floral soaps. I particularly like Lemslip, Demon in the Dark, and Sexy Peel. Incense sticks or cones: Stay away from florals except for Jasmine and Nag Champa. We love those! Herbal scents, spices, and water-like fragrances do pretty well. NO PATCHOULI.

Jackman's Gift Cards. Dude, these are almost better than a cash gift. I can't buy Gift Certificates with my discount, but I can get my discount when I *spend* them. And I will need stabilizer and thread and other goodies from there. Plus, I want to get a second digitizing program and that is going to be pricey.

Take me out to dinner, or a movie. These are things I have no problem doing on my own, but it never occurs to me to do it unless there's a social outing. I'm even game for a round of, "Hey, do you want to go see (fill in the blank) sometime? We can go dutch/you drive I'll buy/you get the tickets and I'll buy dinner." I'm seriously behind on my movies simply because the people I used to go with all the time aren't in town anymore. (Yes, [livejournal.com profile] allura629. I'm looking at you, too.)

DVDs: I'll put together an Amazon wish list, but here's an off-the-top-of-my-head list of titles I don't own but should: Leverage, every season. Shrek, all of the films. Vin Diesel movies other than Pitch Black and XXX. (I'd be particularly happy to pick up "Find me guilty".) Brendan Fraser films. (I have "With Honors" and "Blast from the Past.") A copy of that stage production of Frankenstein starring Benedict Cumberbatch and that other fellow. A movie you love that I might not have seen. Any animated Batman or Justice League. Smallville starting with season 7 (I *think*.) The Dark Crystal. (That's right; I don't actually own a copy.) A copy of Repo: The Genetic Opera. (Have the Blu-Ray at the House of Party; want the DVD for my own shelf.) Sirens. Noises Off. Beastmaster. (Not the series, the film.) V: the series (not the miniseries, I have that. Not the recent remake, I don't want that.)

Music: Itunes gift cards go a long way for me. Or snag me a CD of something you think is awesome. When in doubt, go with movie soundtracks, because they're great for Masquerade presentations and background music for sewing.

Offer to clean something. Helping me clear the floors and then sweeping them, doing my dishes (oh lord help me JESUS the DISHES!!), cleaning the bathroom, sweeping either porch... these are all chores that get away from me and I could always use some extra hands to help. I'll do my own tidying, but sometimes it is really nice to have a cleaning brownie helper.

Bra shopping. Seriously, having a friend along makes this excruciating chore that much easier. I will accept either female or male help with this, and I'm down to my last three "everyday" bras.

Recipes: I am interested in whole-foods, plant-based recipes that do not include peppers or mushrooms.

Toys and Dolls: There are toys that I like, particularly Monster High related stuff and those new miniature lego-like Nano-Blocks. (Squee! LOVE the Nano blocks!) My dolls like to get toys so miniature toys (particularly miniature working toys) are always welcome.

BJD stuff: My current doll wishlist is simple: Fairyland BJDs, both of them. The RealPuki called Kaka (NS, without face-up if possible), and Pong Pong in either Puki Puki size or PukiFee size (NS, without face-up if possible.) A "Holy Grail" doll I want is the limited edition Fantasia from Impldoll, and the Doll Peddler in Little Rock AR has her how I want her. However, that's around $500 worth of doll, so I seriously don't think that's a gift that even my wonderful generous friends can afford. The Pukis are likely to be closer to $200, which is still a big-ticket item. Gift cards for online or local dealers are also welcome: The Doll Hospital, The Doll Corner, Mint on Card, Denver Doll Emporium, The Doll Peddler, Junky Spot.

Mister Super Clear Flat UV Cut. This stuff has to be ordered on the internet and no one local carries it. It's my favorite spray sealant.

Tiny brushes: The kind you'd use for miniature painting. Little bitty, good quality, artist's brushes. Mmm. Also, watercolor pencils. And chalk pastels. All of these things come in handy for my BJD face-ups, and I'm hoping to do more of these professionally soon. Not sure what kind to get? These days a Blick gift card goes a long way.

Archon Monies or contributions to my projects: I'm having the Steampunk Tea Party again and I'm handling the Dead Dog party again. Contributions to both of these items or toward my room costs are always welcome birthday presents.

A Dr. Who Scarf. That's right; I don't actually have one. I have always wanted one. No I don't care which one, and I don't care if it is perfectly canonical. (I do mean 4th Doctor, though.)

Your art. I always love to receive a piece of art, particularly from the artist. I also like to see artists being supported, so gifts of art that you buy from other artists are also welcome. Here are a few hints (as usual): Curious Cat Clothing. R. Stevens. RK Milholland. Doc Nichols. Rich Berlew. Danielle Corsetto. Mike Cole. Keith Berdack. Jen Patton. Jennie Breeden. Jeph Jaques. David Malki!. Butch Honeck. Jon Stadter. Walking Squid/Killer Tentacle/KTOctopus. Silverbeam. The Mushroom Peddler. Paulette Goodreau. And of course: BAST'S GARDEN. (WELOVEYOU!)

DO NOT WANT:
In some cases, I really do have TOO MUCH STUFF. So here's some stuff you might be tempted to give me that would not improve my life:

Pillows. I have PLENTY of pillows. NO MORE PILLOWS.

Leopard print/tiger striped stuff. Ok, I still wear this stuff, but there's a lot of it out there that is just plain crap. Don't be tempted.

Furniture. Where would I put it?

Kitchen Gadgets. God help me, I bought a juicer. I have no idea where it is going to go. I still have nine boxes of kitchen stuff that doesn't fit in the kitchen. NO kitchen stuff, please.

Books: I haven't shelved the books yet. I'm not collecting any more books until I can shelve the books I already have. Usually I like to get books, so don't count me out permanently, just until I deal with the books already here and taking up space.

Craft Crap: Right now my obsessions are BJDs, costuming, and most of all Embroidery. I don't want random donations of random other craft stuff. If you have such things and think I might have a use for them, offer them to my mother for the after-school program she works for. (She can even get you a donation receipt!)

T-shirts. Unless it is spectacularly funny, or particularly special, or supporting one of my favorite artists, I don't want a T-shirt. I have plenty and I rarely wear them these days.

Fast Food gift certificates: I eat enough crap as it is. Thai food GC? Yes. McD's GC? NO.

Trinkets and jewelry: At this point I can't find half of my jewelry anyway. I rarely wear earrings except for costumes, I rarely wear bracelets even with costumes, and I own plenty of necklaces and shiny things. I own several tiaras and headdresses. I like to make my own fascinators. I'm even my own hatter. (Though, a special feather might be neat to add to one of my hats.)

Perfume. Some perfumes set off my allergies. Some trigger my roommate's migranes. Some are just plain awful. Perfume is not my friend.

Candles. Yes, we burn candles in this house. The next time I need more candles, though, I will throw a partylite party and support a local dealer (er, consultant.) I really REALLY do have enough candles and candle-holders.

NO PATCHOULI. Seriously, I love dirty hippies but I don't want my house to smell like one.

Live pets, firearms, or narcotics. Need I say more? None of these things make good presents, in general, but for me particularly they are really a bad idea.

I appear to have a pack of water color pencils that I'm certainly happy to see go to a good home. What is the easiest delivery method for you? Ms. Adela Ote is having a birthday party at her house Sat Aug 18th if you will be in attendance.

I have plastic with Vickies Knickers, because I recently restocked my own bra coffers when they had their 50% off sale. Sale is over, unfortunately, but I would be happy to provide some support. (snerk)

Anyway, if you go forth and try on locally and take down your size and style, we can work something out for you to buy online and I'll pick up the tab. Wish I had known during the sale!!
