Waiting. working
Nov. 10th, 2004 01:54 pmSo I am working on the Archaeological dig, that is to say, *cleaning* of the house.
The kitchen is about half-done. I am not sure that I can get much further without a working Dishwasher.
(Hot water troubles. Never mind, it should be fixed soon.)
I intended to get some vacuuming done, too, but I don't think I will get the whole upstairs ready. Dammit.
The kitchen was NASTY, though. I used an old, old trick to deal with some of the pots and pans: Fill said pans with cold water, add soap and set on the burner on medium.
Got all the pots and pans clean. Once I get the sink cleared of clean dishes, I am going to use the dual sink for the purpose God intended: I am going to wash some dishes, the old fashioned way. I am going to heat water on the stove, then dump it into one of the sinks with some soap.
Wash, rinse, dry.
(Ugh. I hope to GOD that the heater is back this weekend when we have the kids.)
So domestic. About fucking time, too. Hmm.
Off to vacuum a bit. The floor up there is getting pretty gross... time to deal with that.
It would be nice to have people over for a change.
Oh. And the above taking of names in vain isn't. It isn't vain. I am praying the whole time I am doing this massive chore, like a parent pushed too far who's trying not to kill their child...
