I have chosen several ways to celebrate my birthday.
The first was Wildmagick at Lothlorien.
THE SECOND IS TONIGHT AT RIVALZ.
Since the gods of Halloween have deemed that I shall work the CLOSING shift on my BIRTHDAY this year, I have decided that I shall stay up all night with like minded people on the 23rd.
SO, anyone who wishes to sing Happy Birthday to ME on my actual birthday...
Come on out to Rivalz on Thursday night, anytime after about 10:15 or so. (The store closes at 9, give me a half an hour to close up, then I need some change and drive time.)
The third celebration will be Friday night and I think maybe I might go somewhere silly like Dave and Busters or Chuck E Cheese or some such. We will have the children, so anything is possible. Stay tuned for more info. (or call the house.)
And now, some birthday ruminations:
1974: born in Milwaukee WI.
1975: Moved to St. Louis, MO.
1976: First remembered birthday. Had a cookie monster cake, and received my first puzzle. It made me cry.
1977: Got a baby brother for my birthday. He peed in my face.
1978: Not sure that I remember much, but I suspect that this was the year I dressed up as Alice in Wonderland for Halloween. Also, pretty sure that I shared a birthday party with said little brother.
1979: In school now, discovered what an evil teacher looks like.
1980: did the Little Girl Party thing. Strawberry shortcake theme, played "colored eggs."
1981: Got my 11 1/2 inch Princess Leia action figure (doll) for this birthday. Loved that doll. Still do. Still have her.
1982: Got another baby brother for this birthday.
1983: Ah ha, got GLASSES for this birthday, and a skating party.
1984: I believe that this was the year we went apple picking. Still like doing that.
1985: Started making my own Halloween costumes. I was Dr. Who this year.
1986: Nothing jumps out at me. I dressed up as a witch this year.
1987: Broke my finger playing Volleyball. First cat costume.
1988: Entered high school. All my friends disowned me when I came to school dressed up for Halloween. Didn't care. I think that this was the last year that I recieved a barbie (to play with) for my birthday. PS, I still LIKE to get BARBIES for my BIRTHDAY.
1989: I believe that this was the point at which I started sharing my parties with A.B. who's birthday is two days after mine. I think this was the year of the dragon cakes, masquerade party, and making out in the dark.
1990: Sweet 16 (joined) pool party.
1991: Honestly can't remember what I did this year, although it was my senior year of high school. It must have been a party. I wish I knew.
1992: Party at College, presents in the mail. Gave out my clothes to my floor mates as Halloween costumes. (Ok, form two lines. Pirates on the right, Gypsies on the left. One scarf each.)
1993: Working for Target.
1994: Began working for Halloween Express. Now THERE'S a turn of fate.
1995: Turned 21. Threw a massive house party at Mom's. Massive. And fun.
1996: The Year That Sucked. I think I was back at Mom's at this time.
1997: Tried to get roommates to throw a Halloween party. They did not. (And have thrown one every year afterward. Go figure.)
1998: Was living in my own place, threw a housewarming party for my birthday. Got so much toilet paper that I didn't have to buy any for a YEAR. (YAY!)
1999: The last year of Halloween Express. The first real year of the Treasure Chest. Surprised my mother with her 50th birthday party.
2000: Assisted Glinda and the Master with their wedding, instead of working for Halloween Express. (Oh, look! I got my autumn back! No, wait. False alarm.)
2001: The year I worked in HELL for the DEVIL. I went to Wildmagick for my birthday.
2002: Moved into the condo for my birthday. Also performed Rocky Horror cabaret style at a local gay/goth club.
2003: I seem to recall that I celebrated quietly. And that there were lots of cakes. I think that I made myself a PowerPuff Girls Cake. (I know that I made one for Allura earlier that year.)
2004: Hurray! I'm 30!

Date: 2004-09-22 11:44 pm (UTC)How late are you going to be at Rivalz? The absolute earliest I could be there would be midnight, because it's a long way in from Weldon Spring. But if you were still going to be there until at least 12:30 am, I could get there in time to give you your birthday present!
Yes, but...
Date: 2004-09-23 09:07 am (UTC)Of course, It says that I know what I wore for Halloween going back into my 2nd or 3rd year...
Hmm.
I look forward to seeing you tonight.
Yay!
Date: 2004-09-23 12:28 am (UTC)Dunno how late you plan to celebrate, but Mari and I will definitely swing by after work. I'm thinking somewhere between 11:35 and 11:45.
(Dunno if Brad's being conservative or just pessimistic, but it's not more than 20 miles if I take 94 to Page to 270. That puts me one exit away and it's all highway driving.)
Wow what a memory

Date: 2004-09-23 09:07 am (UTC)Hey... Didn't we share a party or two?

Date: 2004-09-23 08:45 am (UTC)Since I have Friday off, I will be at Rivalz until they CLOSE, most likely.
I won't be there before 10pm, and if I am there at that time and no one I know is there yet, I will curl up with some handwork for La Mancha (or a good book.)
Now I'm off to color my hair.
