By Gelfling hand, or else by none...
Jan. 3rd, 2011 12:46 amOk, MUST squee about my Christmas Dolls this year. My Scatter the Scarecrow was pretty awesome, and I include him in my "Christmas Doll" list, but the big deal this year was what my S.O. gave me.
Apparently, in 2001, Sideshow Collectibles (If you're not familiar, get thee to google and go see for yourself) released a set of "Figures" from the Henson company's amazing film, "The Dark Crystal".
My present this year was BOTH the Jen and Kira figures. They're heavily articulated dolls, with rooted hair. Their likenesses are excellent, and the detailing is phenomenal. Jen comes with his flute and crystal shard, and Kira comes with Fizgig, of course.
I had a brief bout of anxiety about de-boxing them, but then decided that I was going to PLAY with them, damn it!
No, Kira does not have wings. I do intend to remedy that. (Oh, no. Must watch The Dark Crystal again. Whatever will I do?)
So. Sometimes my S.O. really knocks it out of the park. Yes, I threw a hint at him, but I do that a lot ever since we had a complete miscommunication several years ago. I had no reason to expect that he would embark on the epic quest to acquire these amazing dolls.
Without much further ado, here they are:

Date: 2011-01-05 06:49 pm (UTC)I found a new technique for wings out of liquid sculpey that come out transparent that may work well for her wings. Or the wire and plastic like on my fairy kitties would be cool! I'll be sure to bring stuff down in the spring!
