Is anyone else having trouble accessing LJ?

For the last two days, I am getting a lot of "the server is busy" or "Page unaccessible" messages.

Odd.


At any rate, here's a quick update:

For those of you who know me in person, get in touch with me about Allura's birthday party, and the candle party I am doing; both are over 4th of July weekend.


I am going to deal with children, two rehearsals and babysitting for a 1 year old this weekend. Wheeeee!

I hope that some of my wings sell at the con in Columbia this weekend. (Konniption.)

I hate to give it a miss, but I am even considering bailing out on ShowMe Con this year, too.

Hmmm.

Feel free to try to persuade me to go to ShowMe. I am currently on the fence. One of the reasons I wanted to go to Lothlorien that weekend just fell through.

So... anyone out there want to try to give me a good reason to spend the money and stay in town for ShowMe?

There was a Wednesday posting on the lj_maintenance journal that they're having technical problems, made worse by the fact that the new person who's supposed to fix them didn't start work until yesterday. Supposedly it ought to be fixed "real soon now" - not that they even promised that much.

I'm pretty blasé about ShowMeCon. I'm probably going, but it's because I've got nothing better to do that weekend. I figure with luck, I'll see some people I don't get to hang out with enough. But I'm managing my expectations pretty aggressively for this one, as I do for all small local cons. I'd love to see you there ... but not if being there is going to put you in a bad mood.

Wasn't the dome raising at Lothlorien the next weekend?

So far I have no conflicts for Friday evening through Sunday afternoon of 4th of July weekend. (I will say, though, that my Friday evening odds of being awake are difficult to forecast and tend towards the negative lately.)

Can't make it to the party. Due to me being out of town at the end of the month, I have to work multiple days over that weekend. :(

Sorry I can't give you a good reason to go to the con. The last several I went to were sadly disappointing. Fandom in STL needs some new blood. Many cool people have exited and party on their own and a larger proportion of the ones that remain give the cons a "fanboy of the Apocalypse reunion" feeling. Still many good people remain but the ratio is not as appealing as it used to be. For the money I would spend on the con and the weekend, I'd almost rather throw a "Brad" party and invite everyone I'd want to see instead.
