Help? Saturday?
Oct. 24th, 2013 09:37 pmMy town has sent me a nastygram telling me that they do not approve of my use of my front porch as long-term storage.
UGH.
I had planned to clear that stuff off by Halloween anyway, but this does light a fire under my butt.
SO:

I'm asking for assistance with the CLEAR THE DAMN PORCH project.
My plan is as follows:
Step 1: Move the Trailer forward. This can be done with the truck, but two people can manage it reasonably well. It's not an overly heavy trailer.
Step 2: Move the book case from the back stairs where it is currently wedged. Find it a home. (This home might be the front porch.)
Step 3: Remove the items from the porch that belong in the back yard or basement. At this time, this includes tents, a wheelchair, some boxes, and assorted other stuff.
Step 4: Help my roommate remove her large items from the back yard and basement.
Step 5: Move the trailer back, all the way into the yard. Close the gate and put up the privacy fence.
Step 6: ?
Step 7: Profit.
This means that I do need big strong volunteers, but I also need people to do weird stuff like managing doors, and possibly keeping an eye on little kids. (If you are a big strong person with little kids, feel free to bring the rugrats and help! Tell them they can play in the jungle! This is a rare opportunity to see what a back yard looks like without any landscaping!)
If I get a big enough team of non-lifters, I might have them work on decorations! I need to spiderweb the CRAP out of the tree, the porch, the fake trees, and the fake fence.
Oh, yeah. I have a fake fence. It needs to go out, too.
Once the webs are up, I need the spiders to go out on display.
I'm not averse to hanging lights, too.
I'm hoping to be done by, say, 1pm. I expect that the lifting will be done relatively quickly, and that it will be the cleaning/decorating that will take more time. The things that need lifting have specific places to go.
Let me know if you can help with this project. I'm also accepting donations of spiderwebbing.
