Con Season Approaches!
Feb. 13th, 2012 05:10 pmSo, in addition to Conflation in a week and a half, there is also KawaKon on the horizon for me. Later on, there's a project in the works that looks like it is a go. Stay tuned for more information, but suffice to say that it will be an event for those who love and appreciate dolls.
Naturally, I also need to research Rocky Horror so that I can decide if we can afford to do the show I wanted later this year, too.
I'm luke-warm about whether I would like to attend ASL (Anime St. Louis) since I'm going to be so heavily involved in KawaKon and might need an anime-break at that point. I'm also going to try to be more aggressive about planning the Steampunk outing to the Ren Faire and try to get out there for more than one appearance. Considering how much fun we've had in the past making guest faerie appearances, it might be time to dust off the wings and give it a go. Not sure; this will depend heavily on my schedule.
Plus, there's the question of Shake 38 and Elf Fest. I'd REALLY like to go to Elf fest this year, with a team like I had for Wild Magick. It's taken me nearly 20 years to pull it off, but I finally managed to get a strong STL showing at the festival, and I want to continue to bring awesome STL folks to wow the Elves.
I find that this is a season of "missing" for me. I miss the conventions, I miss my seasonal friends, and of course there is one person I miss more than anyone. (It was nice to have LOTS to do on the 12th.) I find that I'm missing my local friends, too, since we're all burrowed in and hibernating to a certain extent. (Unless we're insanely busy, which amounts to the same thing.)
But I won't be throwing a party for Mardi Gras, Hina Matsuri, St. Valentine's Day, or Lupricalia. I *might* throw a party around Easter, just for the fun of it. I do love nothing so much as an egg hunt, so be aware that there might be such at thing at my house this year.
