Two Raccoons.
Feb. 6th, 2012 03:46 pmThere are two raccoons trying to live in my attic. For all I know, there's a dozen more but I have personally seen two of them.
And these furry critters don't think much of me. Stared me right in the eye. I hissed at them, which freaked them out a little bit, but didn't make them back down.
Had a friend do some investigating on my roof, and we found the opening they've torn up there. Next step is to lay my hands on a live trap, clear everything out of the dormer closet, set the trap in the closet with, oh, say, a mostly-empty jar of peanut butter and wait for the screaming. Once I have the first 'coon, we're going to take it to Forest Park and release it.
Though I have thought really hard about letting it go in Ladue.
Once I get the second one, we'll fix the hole in the area near the roof and see if that holds. We're also going to see what we can do about the damn squirrel hole on the other part of the roof.
Here's hoping that the raccoons haven't had babies up there yet. If they have, I will have to hire someone to dig them out. Gah.
