Unpleasant self-awareness.
Jun. 2nd, 2004 09:24 amOne thing I did not mention in yesterday's guts-spilling entry was the moment of enlightenment I had this weekend...
You know that "guy," the insensitive jerk who expects his wife to work hard all day (either at home or at work) and still cook a full meal on time, clean up afterward, do all of the work raising the kids, keep the house clean, and at the end of the day still be willing to put out for him?
The guy who believes that sex is his sovereign right, and his wife's "marital duty?" The guy who thinks he's entitled to sex whenever and wherever?
Yeah. I hate him, too. He's a real jerk without empathy, and doesn't care about his wife (or partner)'s needs or level of sexual enjoyment.
Guess what, people? I am him.
I am that guy. This doesn't change the fact that I hate him.

Worship you...
(IN spite of the damned "cherish" song! running laps in my head!!!)
Jen... you are wisdom incarnate. Then again, so is DA MAN that walks by your side, honey! I suspect you bring everyone you cross paths with to a higher *order* of living.
Pam (grateful for having crossed your path myself!)
