Nothing in particular

Just felt like updating.
I'm apprehensive about August. Last year, August was pretty brutal, what with two events, BLT, and my usual "It's Alive" seminar on top of my other duties.
This year, I peeled back on some of those duties. I managed to weasel out of guide classes on Monday nights, though I'm still stuck working Monday nights. I'm not teaching any of the "sit and sew" classes. I'm not prepping Freaky Fridays.
However, I *am* teaching Thursday night guide classes.
I *am* running Embroidery Pro Club.
We *are* hosting two events, one week apart no less.
And Baby Lock Tech starts at the end of the month. I'm going to go for two days this year.
Great Shades of Elvis! That's a full month. So the answer to "Gee, Kukla, do you want to go to this or that social event in August" is a resounding "NO."
THe answer to "Can I buy you dinner sometime" or "Can we hang out one on one and talk" or "Can I pet you for a few hours and brush your hair for you?" is a resounding "YES. Let me get that scheduled."
I will NOT be up for big social things until September, and even then I'm likely to be a little bit hermit like. I will be up for small gatherings, particularly with people I know well.
Remember folks; My extrovert self works her little butt off at work. I have to be social, and sparkly, and "on" the whole time I'm in the building; not just when I'm "on the clock." It's a 6-8 hour *show* the whole time I'm there. My taste for large anonymous groups has become very limited.
My taste for large groups of awesome people is also becoming limited.
I don't want to hermit myself this fall, so I'm going to try to remember the ways in which I actually re-charge the Extrovert portion of the Kukla. I'm also going to remember that recharging the introvert is not the same as hibernating for the winter.
So if I blow off a social engagement, it might be because putting me in a bed with a book is better medicine than putting me in a room full of people. If I suddenly call you out of the blue and hiss, "Adventure!" it might be my way of saying that I need to get out more.
I also have zero budget for anything, ever. Until I can get the real money rolling in from the business, I'm going to be really strapped for cash. All future movie parties will be downgraded to dollar shows unless I get a benefactor. (Translation: I'm more than willing to go to movies with anyone reading this blog. I can no longer afford to fund such outings, however. Feel free to take me to a movie.)
My August Sale with the embroidery business is baseball caps. If you want a hat with something embroidered on it, let me know. Once we get closer to August I will post the Deal of the Month. Standard fees for baseball caps are as follows:
$25 gets you a basic inexpensive hat with a word or design on it in less than six thread colors.
For an additional digitizng fee (starting around $65) you can get a custom design.
In other words, if you pick a design that already exists, or a word/phrase that I can put together quickly, you only pay for the embroidery and the hat itself.
If you want something really customized (a logo, a mascot, a piece of your art) you have to pay a digitizing fee.
For August, I might waive the digitizing fee. I might give you the hat for free if you pay for the embroidery. I might offer a steep discount for multiple hats. (You know, in case you want a set of hats for your team/gaming group/company/restaurant.)
September... I can't even see that far right now, man.
