Adventure!

Yesterday, I got to spend the day with my S.O.

He got a pass, and I went down to Farmington to pick him up. As it happened, the paperwork for the pass wasn't done properly, so he didn't have the pass he intended. Originally, he requested permission to go to the Department of Revenue to get his license reinstated, and somewhere for lunch.
However, since that pass hadn't been approved, his case manager and I discussed other options. As it happens, he'd applied for (and received) a pass to come home on July 4th. I have to work on July 4th, so that wasn't going to happen. So his case manager adjusted it for June 30th, and I secured permission to take him exactly one place: Home. The window of time was 11:30-5:30.

However, I should point out that barring traffic BS, the trip to Farmington is still about an hour and a half. So that meant I had him for about three hours at home.

Still, three hours at home was a blessing.

Of course, I didn't have the place even up to party standards, so he got to see the squalor. On the other hand, he got to hang out on the Couch of Doom with me, so that was kind of awesome. (Special thanks to Thing Two for rearranging the couch after the Ladiez left. She laundered the sheets, put all the cushions back on, and left it decoratively arranged.)

The next time I'm likely to see him is next week on Wednesday. I have another six-day-stretch until then. Gah. There will be fewer of those going forward.

He's got big plans for the house, though I reminded him that the basement and kitchen need to be the top priorities. We'll rearrange the bedroom later. He wants to make a big closet in the bedroom by taking out the closet in the bathroom, and maybe making the dead space next to the bathtub into a storage space/closet/whatever.

Some news: He will be severely restricted in his computer usage. Once he moves home, there will no longer be Wi-Fi at the Mint Cookie. (Unless I can sweet-talk his P.O.-a distinct possibility. I need the Ipad for work, after all.) My thought is to work out our business plan and put him on the clock. If he can run my machine while I'm at work, and solicit additional business, I can do all the computer-related-things. This business can potentially make us more money than his old salary; it just needs someone to actually be available to do the damn work. I work full-time, so I can only give a certain amount of my energy to the side-endeavor. If we make it his full-time job, and my part-time job, we can make this a success, I think.

And whoo boy, would I like to see that happen. Let him work from home and figure out who he wants to be.

One of these "Pass" days will likely include some kind of gathering. Keep an eye on your emails; I will not be posting here or in the Book of Face.
