For the first time in months, I had to have a private conversation with a salesperson about my account not having quite enough funds for my purchase.
Fortunately, my wallet held the remaining funds necessary.
Fortunately, the reason for hitting the wall was because I hadn't deposited two checks yet, one of which is my paycheck which would normally have been available Tuesday night.
But still.
Ugh.
This morning I realized that I'd reached the end of my funds with regard to my energy and management skills.
Yup, ran out of money and spoons at the same time. Ain't it always the way?
And the other reason for hitting the wall was that I paid the water bill, fixed the furnace, paid the electric bill (all of it) and made Arrangements with Laclede Gas for the ridiculously high gas bill from this winter. I had to give them rather a large chunk of cash and make arrangements to continue to pay it off bit by bit during the warmer months. Sheesh.
So we shouldn't have another house disaster anytime soon. Thank God.
And I deposited one check on my way to work today, will deposit the paycheck tomorrow.
And I will sleep in until 8:30 and luxuriate in it.
I just spent the last week getting a 12 year old out the door and to school on time, which was a 6:20 wake up call for me.
Last night, I agreed to pick up a friend in Hazelwood after he returned from his week long trip. It was supposed to have been at 11pm or so.
He didn't make it in until nearly 2am.
And I took the kid to school this morning. 6:20 wake up call, after driving from Hazelwood (by the Mills) to the Grove in the rain. At almost 3am.
I'm ready for a break. Said 12 year old admitted that he *could* ride the bus, but it means getting up at 5am.
I gave him The Look and said, "So if you can't get your butt in gear for me, I'm happy to wake you at 5am and go back to sleep."
He got his butt in gear.

bradhicks, and it was quite pleasant to fuss over him and do his bidding for a day. I clearly need to spend a day with him more often. It did me good.
