AAAhhh! What do I wear!?!
Jun. 3rd, 2014 12:17 amAkon is this weekend.
I'm going.
What on earth should I bring to wear?
These are my thoughts, as far as "Stuff that fits me now" and the associated feelings:
Better in groups, but cute and fun:
Ponies: I have both Twilight Sparkle and Apple Fritter ready to go, but these are both much more fun to do when I have additional ponies to prance around with.
Fauns/Satyrs: In truth, I like having at least one additional fuzzy butt to run in my herd on this one. However, I have a pair of grey goat leggins that would fit Mom, so I *might* be able to persuade her to be a Grump Satyr with me. Which would be its own kind of awesome. Plus I'd get to do her makeup. Bonus: Doll costume to match.
Comfortable:
Dark Fey: I really do love to wear that eggplant-purple chemise belted with the burgundy wings, black wig, horns, and leather crown. The whole thing is kind of Maleficent-slash-Curious-Cat. A look I do supremely well. Comfortable, and I can wear it for hours and not get jabbed in anything important.
Greek Goddess: The Cassandra Chiton is always a popular choice, at least for me. I need to see if I can find the correct underskirt/shift for it, though. Cant' wear it the way I did at Elf Fest. The other chiton is also fun and comfortable.
Fairy Godmother: Slightly more cumbersome than the Dark Fey, the Attendant Gown from the Wedding of Glinda and The Doctor from years ago is still gorgeous on me. (As evidenced this past weekend.) IT doesn't pack down as tightly as the purple stuff, but is incredibly comfortable to wear and looks amazing. However, the wings are more obnoxious; I doubt that I'll bring any of the fairy wings this time. SO maybe flower-crown Fairy Godmother.
Slightly less comfortable, but more impressive:
Steampunk:
1. Tentacle Dress or 20,000 Leagues Under The Tea gown. The box is bulky but it is SO worth it. Green, blue, copper... tentacles.
2. Cryptozoologist: Embroidery showcase, plus a sexy corset and a lot of choices for headgear. I'll probably not bring the faux pith helmet.
3. The Lady In Black: The pseudo-military ensemble with the knee-britches and the embroidered jacket.
Mad Hattrix: Sort of steampunk, sort of wonderland... and I can let a doll ride on the Magnificent Hat. Incorporates pieces from the steampunk wardrobe, so I can recycle them.
A Fairy Fine Corset: I have that new Mushroom corset I traded a machine for. I also have some pieces that match it. I can be a sassy forest creature in that. Heck, if someone begs me for it, I could even sell the corset off my body...
Pirate: Well, to be fair, my best pirate stuff is loaned out. However, that doesn't mean I don't have some awesome booty still here. (The jokes write themselves, folks.) I have my wench belt, several chemises/shirts/etc, vests, skirts, and pantaloons. Plus boots. Tons of boots. I can *always* be a pirate.
And that doesn't even get into stuff like Medusa (mmm. Sexy leather headpiece), Fairytale Princesses (Cinderella, etc), my standard Goth Gear, the other Steampunk finery I have, or any of my new-found Weird West combinations.
So the problem seems to be that I have too many options, not that I'm scrounging for ideas.
What do you like me in? What do you think best showcases my awesomeness?
