This is your invitation.
Jul. 9th, 2013 02:44 pmI'm on committee for a convention in November, called the St. Louis Ball-Jointed Doll Convention. 2012 was our first year and we're doing fundraisers periodically to support this new endeavor.
Our next event is a Tea Social on Saturday, July 27th at 2pm.
The theme is "Doorway to a Place of Enchantment", and each table is hosted by a famous character and decorated to a specific fantasy theme.
It's only $10 to attend, and we will have a lovely snack/luncheon buffet, the very best tea (cold and hot), door prizes, and more!
Our last event was a wild success and everyone had a splendid time.
As before, we are having a raffle with items donated by our committee and local benefactors. Items in the raffle last time included household goods, hand-crafted items, decorative candles, original artwork pieces, collectable toys, and a huge dollhouse.
We've been taking in some amazing raffle prizes for the next one!
We are also bringing back the Dollar Table project. Items are set out on a special table, and each item is only one dollar. However, each participant can only choose three items at a time, and we have a random drawing to determine the order. The proceeds from the Dollar Table go toward the OBC Food Pantry, our favorite charity.
This time we've added a craft to the agenda, and we hope that you will enjoy creating a special display using thread spools.
Our convention focuses on doll collecting, and some of our dolls will be on display. However, this tea party is for anyone who enjoys Wonderland, Middle Earth, Hogwards, Mary Poppins, Neverland, Oz, Narnia, or other worlds of enchantment.
