This quilt show is rockin!
Sep. 14th, 2012 06:28 pmRound Bobbin is seriously awesome, folks.

First of all, there are all kinds of classes and workshops and lecture/demo/presentations. I was sad to miss the one today that involved like 100+ years worth of undergarments. I believe that it was presented by the Bra Lady but I'm not sure. I'll have to review my paperwork. There are classes on a variety of topics, so if you are at all interested in sewing, you should come and take a class.
And then there's the dealer's room. Yes, there's the usual round of machine dealerships (like us) and fabric stores (like us) and the like, but there are also fashion-fabric dealers, and a lady with some seriously awesome fun sparkly jewelry, and a lady with a cute doggie who was part of the fashion show (different than the underwear.) The guy who sometimes hits Costume Con was there, the one with the German accent and all the amazing trims and trinkets. (Drrrooooolllll) I took pictures, and this time I did not get away without picking up some things. Sigh.
There's also a booth doing dyeing demos, and they sell nifty colorfast fiber-reactive dyes that are vibrant and wonderful.
I haven't even gotten to the part where there is a QUILT SHOW. So many beautiful pieces of fabric art. Sigh. I haven't even seen the whole thing. It's massive!
It's only $8 to go, and it is at the St. Charles convention center, so it is easy to get to. Come to our booth and make a cute zippered pouch on a string; perfect to carry your cards and keys at a quilt show... or expo... or festival... or other CONVENTION...
Our little sit-and-sew project is FREE. Come to my booth and tell my boss how awesome I am. Come to the show and see the art. Come to the show and learn something new.
