This week is likely to suck.
Aug. 6th, 2012 08:02 pmSo, here's the deal for this week:
Worked an 11 hour day followed by an 11.5 hour day over the weekend.
Today I had to teach two classes in the store, then go to a customer's house and teach there. Long day.
Tomorrow, I have to go in early because of the Serger classes (teaching again) and stay late (potentially) because of a (necessary, I admit) department meeting.
Wednesday is my day off or is it? In fact, I have an appointment with a client (a paying client) in the afternoon, and I'm then going to head into work to teach a one-on-one class with a poor customer who has bought a multineedle machine but hasn't gotten any classes and is *doing it all wrong.* So I'll be there the rest of the day, I'm sure.
Thursday I'm working 1-9pm on the floor. Here's hoping it is quiet; I have kits to cut. Why?
Friday is my other day off or is it!? In fact, I have to go in to work that day to set up for my stupid class on Saturday.
Ok, it's NOT a stupid class. It's an awesome class. I don't teach stuff I don't like, and this will be the adorable pinafore for an 18inch doll. SO I either get to come in for two hours on my day off to set up the machines (I seriously do NOT trust the team to do this for me) or I have to go in on Saturday at 8am, assuming I can get anyone to let me in the store that early.
Class runs from 10:30 am to 12:30, which means the very earliest I can leave is 1pm. Let's assume that happens, shall we? (That would mean that everything went really well and switching the machines over won't take very long. We're also assuming that I won't get needy customers who want my attention when I should be giving general instructions, that no one goes over on time during the class and that I have a helper. It would be awesome if I could assume these things...)
Here's the math:
46.5 hours this week. At least. On the one hand, WHOO overtime! On the other... OH GOD OVERTIME... and that's assuming that nothing catches fire and falls over into the swamp requiring more of my attention.
Ok, counting lunch breaks? Still 44.25 hours.
I'm trying to come up with the courage to cancel that class, I think. Ugh.
