It hurts us, Precious...
Aug. 1st, 2012 07:00 pmUgh.
Today was an "Everything Hurts" day. My IBS has been rearing its ugly head, so that hasn't been fun. Now my back is complaining in earnest.
Last night I developed a headache that was really epic and still had to drive home from Fenton with that thing throbbing.
Didn't sleep well at all, then overslept this morning because I drifted off *on my way out of the bed*. Dreamed about my S.O., so getting back to reality was particularly difficult.
Crawled into work and realized immediately that I should go home. I was operating at about 30%, and the more that was asked of me, the lower the percentage went. I cancelled my afternoon class and went the hell home. I called my Chiropractor and left a message, then had a nice little lie-down. Dr. W called back and told me to come around 4:30. Suits me; I slept some more.
Got up and headed out to Chesterfield. I'm still not feeling particularly hungry but some of that is my reluctance to put anything in my system when my lower GI tract is pissed off. Dr. W checks me out and is not pleased. He works on the whole damn spine and most of it is NOT in a mood to be moved. UGH. However, after adjustment I'm feeling marginally better so I head over to Chesterfield Plaza to get something to drink and maybe eat.
OMGWTFBBQ!!!
My favorite place to park is just to the left of the new theater and Cheesecake Factory and American Girl store. It's the little section by Sears. (Yes, there's STILL a Sears there. And it is open.) It's a great spot and I usually have no problem finding a nice space. Instead, some local car dealership has taken over a significant percentage of the lot! Not only have they camped out in this spot, but rather than take up five or six whole rows, they've taking up a quadrant and blocked off EVERY lane a third of the way back. What this means in a parking lot with angled parking, is that you can get in BUT YOU CAN'T GET OUT. It also means that a lot that often has ample parking spaces is now overcrowded with more cars looking for an empty space. I witnessed three near-misses on my way in. I would have left, but I was in a real mood to go find someone official and start screaming "WHAT IS THIS CRAP!?"
I got my Orange Julius and found the Help Desk. I registered an official complaint on paper and indicated that not only would I not be returning to that mall (Orange Julius or not) but that I would let all of my friends know that they are renting out their prime parking spots to some auto dealership. The poor sympathetic fool working the desk agreed with me and said in a frightened tone that this coming weekend is "Tax-free" weekend for back-to-school, and with that much parking obscured, she's not sure what will happen.
Accidents, was my reply. LOTS of Accidents.
She also had just come on shift 30 minutes prior and had already gotten tons of complaints. Apparently this is supposed to be a "Car Show". Not hardly; this was a sales lot. I could have suggested at least four better spots for this at Chesterfield mall. Putting this circus in their busiest zone is the height of stupidity. Until I know that they have regained their senses, I'm not heading back out there any time soon.
Though, there was loot. Sigh.
