You know me, I don't always plan things. I'm better at plotting. Mwa ha ha...

I am going to do a big round of cleaning tonight, then get my butt to bed at a reasonable hour. In the morning I plan to get all fey and head out to the Faire. I'm hoping to get there by noon so that I can go walk the parade for the Ladiez.

After the Parade, you can find me at their booth most likely. After that I'm not sure where I'll be. I will have my zombie phone on me so if you are at the faire and want to connect, gimme a call.

After the Faire I plan to go home and pack up for Elf Fest. I'm hoping to get as much stuff ready as possible, including packing clothes and costumes, packing non-perishable foods, packing up the bar, and digging out my sleeping gear. I'm also going to inventory and price tag any merchanting stuff.

Sunday I'm heading out to Farmington for The Boy's High School Graduation!

Hands Out

I'm going to come right out and say it: I kind of need some money.

Nothing is on fire, the utilities are covered, and I'm making car payments and insurance payments on time.

No, what I need money for is this summer's adventure. I plan to take The Kids down to Florida for a week, with a stop in Alabama on the way there and the way back. If all goes well my lodging is covered, but I'd like to take the kids to the parks. Disney, Universal, Medieval Times, Gatorworld, etc. I'd like to have a bit of pocket money to feed them with and pick up the occasional souvenir.

I do have most of this covered, barring random expenses. But since The Boy is graduating on Sunday, it suddenly occurred to me that contributing to this trip would be a nice graduation present to him. Or perhaps an early birthday present to me and/or The Girl.

As I went from the kitchen to the bathroom, I heard a running-water sound. As I'm alone in the house at the moment, this was cause for alarm.

Earlier tonight I noticed that the handle for the hot water in the bathroom sink was a little bit... odd. It stuck a little then gave. When I turned it to off, it shut off. I went on my merry way.

So there I am standing in the doorway of the bathroom, witness to a fountain, a geyser, a rushing tide of HOT water blasting out of the sink!!

Picture my old animated "OMG OHNOES" icon.

I went for my pair of pliers (Want a pair of pliers for every single room of my house...) and tried to shut off the water. Yeah. Right.

Ran downstairs and shut off the main. It squeaked in kind of a "Oh, did you notice me? No one ever bothers me, you know. Where are you going?" way.

So now there is no water. Good thing I finished the dishes. There's a bit of water in the kettle, I think, if we get thirsty. I also have bottled water.

Hopefully we can resolve this tomorrow. Looks like I won't be heading out to the faire, one way or the other. I'm probably going to be acquiring a new sink. Augh. I *hate* plumbing. I also hate that sink, though, so this might turn out to have a silver lining after all. Mmm. New sink.

Anybody got a sink laying around doing nothing?
