I do so LOVE transformative costuming...
Mar. 13th, 2012 09:06 pmI hadn't expected to suddenly put together a last minute costume for Kawakon. But when I realized that I could take my brother's place and handle the Quidditch practice... I wondered which Potterverse character I could portray.
The one that sprung to mind was a character I would dearly LOVE to play but is completely against body-type for me. Then again, it's cosplay at a local fan run convention. Who the hell cares if I'm not the precisely correct body type?
I found the perfect wig tonight. I spent just slightly more than I had been budgeting, but believe me it is worth it. It's so rare that I plunk a wig on my head and it makes my spine tingle.
This wig, much like the Nun costume, fits a little too well. It is NOT my hair. Not even remotely. And yet, it has this aura of "it COULD be my hair."
Ladies and Gentlemen, be prepared for Madame Hooch to make a debut appearance at KawaKon. It's a shame that she won't be around to keep an eye on those tricky slytherins for the actual matches on Sunday.
And I look... very SCARY... in a butch-cut spiky grey wig. For real.
Oh, and yeah, the wig was the only thing I needed to make or buy. Of course. This is how I roll. I even have a completely awesome broom to bring with me.
