Hey, Kukla! What are you up to?
Jul. 28th, 2011 12:08 pmOk, so most of you know that with a retail job my days are kind of random. I don't have a steady schedule from week to week, and now I'm teaching evening classes as well.
However, there are some things you can count on to be reasonably regular and here they are:
Sunday I work from noon to five at the store. Sunday nights are game night for my gaming group.
Mondays are either days off, or I'm working from 1-9pm. Or sometimes I'm working 10-4. See? Random.
Tuesdays, if I'm working, it is a 10-6 shift.
Wednesdays, if I'm working, it is a 10-6 shift, with either Belly dance or Stitch n Bitch at my place in the evenings from 7-10.
Thursdays, pretty much from here on out are a 1-9 shift for me, unless I request it off. EDIT: Ok, so sometimes I will be working 10-4. Go figure.
Fridays, which I usually work, are a 10-6 shift. I will be taking Friday of Archon off. Also the Friday of Wild Magick Festival.
Saturdays, if I'm working are event days or teaching days. The second Saturday of every month is my sit n sew class, so if there's a daytime Saturday event on that day, I can't make it. Also see late night Friday events.
So that's my life for the time being.
Here's what I have on the calendar for the rest of the year (so far):
Big event at work the weekend after next. If you like sewing and embroidery I strongly encourage you to sign up. It's the Adorable Ideas team.
Dolly meet-up at my place on August 20th. Wizard of Oz theme!
Edit: Kimono Class at work (yes, there is still room!) on August 21st from 12:30 to 4:30 pm. ($35 plus materials.)
It's Alive is August 27th. I'm teaching my awesome machine care seminar. If you own a sewing machine, you should totally come and it is free.
Labor Day Weekend there will likely be some kind of party or something. I will be working on the Sunday and on Labor Day Proper.
Freaky Fridays at work are in September and October. FREE COSTUME CLASSES, PEOPLE! They will be on Friday Afternoons around 2 or 2:30pm.
Edit: Announcing!
ldy_kathryne's 42nd Birthday party: September 10th!
Theme: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy! Babel fish and 'tea' will be provided, bring your own towel. More details soon...
Lothlorien's "Wild Magick Festival" the weekend of September 17th. If you want to come and play, let me know as soon as possible.
My birthday is the 23rd, which is a friday.
Archon is the first weekend of October (September 30, October 1 and 2) I'm not only planning the Mad Scientists' Tea Party (This year with Eastern Steampunkery), but I'm also working on something huge for Sunday afternoon! Oh, and something for the masquerade stage, but you probably already guessed that.
Halloween's theme is MONSTER HIGH!! Come over in your best Monster High Student costume, or better yet dress as one of the Allumni/parents. (Classic Monsters, folks!) Trick or treating will start earlier than I anticipated, so we'll probably get going around 6pm.
I'm also taking the whole week of Halloween off, so I can go to Alabama to visit. I'd be down with taking a friend on that journey.
And that's as far as I have solidly planned.
After that it's Thanksgiving, The HOLIDAZE with Steampunk Caroling, Santarchy, and the usual round of "Holiday" madness. I might try to take the last week of the year off as well so that I can head down south for a visit.
Next year I'm taking the Kids to Florida, through Taladega, Alabama during the summer for vacation fun.
That's what I've got!
