More of other peoples' art

I love Fudge That Sugar.
Her art is simplistic but her stories are hilarious. And this one in particular struck a chord with me. Click the link. CLICK IT!!!
Of course, I put up with this kind of crap at my current job more than the rest of the world. I am also appalled by things that one coworker in particular says when I explain that if I feel like I'm at a stable enough point to take on the responsibility of raising a child, I'll adopt a kid who is already here and needs parents.
She seems to think that "It's just not the same." Seriously. Like, if they don't come out of you, you can't love them properly or something. I have several friends *and relatives* who were adopted who would wholeheartedly disagree with you. Heck, ask my Godmother, who has both biological children and an adopted child. I dare you to figure out who is who, because they're all her real kids.
But now I think I have a better understanding of why people go to such bizarre lengths to have a "natural" child, why they wind up with multiples or spend thousands and thousands of dollars to try to have a baby that is biologically theirs. Because people like my coworker... apparently CAN'T love a child that didn't come out of them. They choose NOT to.
On the one hand, what a waste. On the other... well... hm.
