Ok, I'm heading out the door now, and I'm hoping to start seeing people at the park by 6:30. If you get there and no one else is there, don't despair: I'm on my way.

Just a reminder:
Sunset Park Pavilion
Florissant, MO

Sunset itself is supposed to be at like 7:10, so the earlier you get there the better chance of being able to see worth a darn.

Directions, in case you need them:

Take Lindbergh north past 270, past Charbonier/Washington to Patterson.
Turn LEFT at Patterson.
Go Past Mullanphy to HUMES.
Go LEFT on HUMES.

(OR)

Take 270 to McDonnell Blvd. Exit and head NORTH.
Follow it while it turns into Howdershell and then Shackleford.
When you go past St. Sabina's on the right, look for Humes/Sunset Park Drive at the next major intersection.
There will be (Clockwise from left) a Middle School, a Walgreen's, a former Fire Station, and a Post Office at the corner.
Turn LEFT on HUMES/Sunset Park Drive.

Take Sunset Park Drive to the end of the road. There's a stop sign and that's the park entrance. Go straight, down the hill. (DOOOWWWNNN the Hill. It's a doozy!)
Park and come up to the pavilion.

Not that I needed a new job, or a second (third?) job...

I've been telling everyone that I don't have a spare minute until after Halloween, and that wasn't a lie.

But... um...

So there was a natural disaster at the Florissant Spirt Halloween Superstore.
You know, the one around the corner from where I live.

Ike brought a present: Flash Flooding and for some reason Florissant was hit with it this time. They had up to six inches of *standing water and mud* in the store today.

o.O

So my rehearsal/cast meeting/site walkthrough was cock-blocked by the fact that nearly everyone who is planning to be a Goblin had to go in to work and haul soggy cardboard out to the dumping area as fast as possible.

It was merely damp in there today.
Tomorrow, and for the rest of the season... it's going to be hell on my allergies.

And yet, when one of the people in the store asked me (in desperation) "Um, do you want any hours? Because we could use the help" I put on my pants (and my Spirit shirt) and joined in on the fun.

Bleah. What a freaking MESS. I saw the pile of damaged goods. It made me cry. No, you don't want it. Any of it. Really.

Most of the real damage was cardboard or wood related.

I waded in and helped as much as I could. Then they said, "Well, we have to figure out how to pay you..."
I offered my services in exchange for a gift card. They decided that it would behoove them to actually put me on the payroll, for insurance purposes. Sounds fine to me; it means I get a discount... right in time for Goblin Ball!

The manager wanted to know if I had any hours to offer.

Well... I *am* taking that week off (for Archon) so there's a couple of days there, and to be completely fair, MY store closes at 6 most nights and it is not a big deal to skedaddle a little bit early, so I can come and help close up sometimes.
And there will be a few weekdays that I'll have off.

Um.
Guess I have a "little extra" for Xmas this year!
Or funding for my Halloween habit. Either way!
