Who else is goin
Apr. 3rd, 2006 12:08 amI'm wondering who out there is considering going to Goth Night at Europa tonight?
I work until 8 but I'm thinking of going since I have Tuesday off. I could even try to make a grand appearance of The Big Black Dress.
Is anyone else interested in going dancing? Perhaps providing me with a ride so that I might blow some steam and get a drink or two?
In the mean time, behold my icons. They are legion. I found an LJ icon maker and I likes it. I wish it had more and better fonts, but these will do for now.
This is my current favorite. Remember folks; there are kids in high school now who were born in the 1990s.
(shudder)
"We didn't have black lipstick when I was a kid. You know what we had? Black eyeliner. On our LIPS. If we were *lucky* we could combine it with some chapstick and make it less cakey. And if we got chapstick, it was unflavored. And we were GLAD to HAVE it.
"We didn't have fancy pre-made fishnet shirts. No, we made our fishnet shirts out of actual nets used to catch fish! If we were LUCKY we had a pair of fishnet tights left over from Halloween that we could mangle into a shirt.
"Our mall didn't have Hot Topic or Rave or anything like that. If we wanted to look like our clothes were worn and fashionable, we had to either wear them out ourselves, or buy them from thrift stores! We had to make do with actual combat boots swiped from our dads' closets. Our vintage look was actually VINTAGE!"
Ah. I've done it now. I'm old.
