I wanna drum circle. I'm going to have one at my Mom's house this weekend. She told me I could, though I haven't told her that I want to do so this weekend yet.
I'm thinking friday or Saturday. Feel free to vote.
Who's invited?
Anyone reading this. If you have your own percussion, please bring it. If you do not have your own noisemaker don't sweat it. There will be other drums brought.
If you have multiple drums, and are willing to share, please bring those too.
"But wait, I'm not a musician!"
I can hear some of you whining. Can you bang out a four beat? You know, that same "the natives are getting restless" BOOM boomboomboom beat you hear in every old hollywood movie? Can you do so if someone else is doing it, too? Then come on out and find out what I mean when I talk about Earth Drummers.
"But I don't play drums."
So, what DO you play? Is it portable? I would be overjoyed to have additional falalas (Translation: A Falala is a lyrical instrument. Something that you can go "Fa la la" with. Flutes, stringed things, etc.)
"But I wouldn't know what to do."
Come out, and I will do the mini-workshop where I explain how the group dynamic of a drum circle works.
"Oh, no thanks. I hate Drum Circles."
Blasphemer.
"Awesome. When and how long? Can we be nekkid?"
Um... Stay tuned. Or call me. Or email me. Or IM me. And as to the nekkid part, I would like to point out that we have Teh Kids this weekend, so as long as you have no problem with 8 and 11 year old kids going "EEW!" and pointing at you and laughing... sure!
We might even burn stuff in the back yard and play outdoors depending upon the weather. If not, we can always put a boatload of candles on a little table in the middle of the circle.
