Quick like bunny

Just a short update:
My SO is home, safe and sound.

Poor Magickal Weekend. Maybe if they'd bothered to tell ANYONE that it was happening and where, there might have been a better turn-out. Then again, perhaps they're trying to avoid the stigma of SPAMMERS.

The friendly folks at Rivalz enjoyed my fogging cauldron, and I may have sold the thing.

Today is my last day with Spirit, this year. Next year, I might go work for my former Halloween Express boss at a Spirit Consignment store.

Thursday morning my SO went out of town.
Thursday night, I looked at the empty house and thought, "Well, I could bother to cook for one, or I could go mooch off of MOM and get some home cookin' that isn't my own..."

Called her up, and she was delighted to have me over for dinner. (Mmm. Pork cutlets.)

She and Stepdad were planning to go to Con*traception in KC. I wished that I could go but I had no funds and the Spirit Inventory was scheduled for Saturday afternoon. Not happening, but I sent some product with Mom to try to sell at their table.

My youngest brother was home, and that was nice. He's taking a class at Webster called "You Don't Know Jack... Nicholson." We talked about that. Mom and I got to talking and mostly dominated the conversation, but I tried to make sure that we let my brother in from time to time. I mentioned that I wanted a copy of the Bill Cosby records that I listened to as a child because I wanted to share them with the SO and the kids.
My brother smiled at me and said, "How much vintage Bill Cosby do you WANT?"

He has everything. Wonderfulness, I Started Out As A Child, Is A Very Funny Guy, Right?, etc.

Drool.
Then my sweet brother burned me a copy of everything, and handed me a stack of CDs.

Wow.

After watching ER with Mom, I planned to go home as I had to be at the store at 9am the next day.
No such luck. Mom went to bed, but I ended up staying up all night talking to my Bro.

It was worth the sleep I lost.

Friday and Saturday nights I got to spend with piratebob which was nice. Friday we watched Firefly and went to Rivalz. (Much later than we anticipated, but we started getting ready and couldn't stop...) I think I *am* sold on this Firefly show. It is a shame that TV killed it. Sci-fi would do well to pick it back up and keep going... but that won't happen.

Saturday night we *tried* to go to Magickal Weekend.
By the time we got there the dance and all evening activities had shut down. Dammit! It was early, yet. Last year at that time the party was in full swing! I remember the kids BEGGING TO STAY because it was so much fun. I remember sending the SO home with them while Allura and Brad and I hung around looking satirical in our horns and goat leggings.

This year...
I don't know if it was the change in venue, the lack of publicity, or if everyone really DID go to KC this year for Con*traception... but it looks like Magickal Weekend is in its death throes. Crickets chirping. Doors locked.

This makes me really sad.

And I looked so pretty, too. I was all purple ball gown, dragonfly wings and fabulous hair, with my tiara and everything.

Ms. Bob was... There aren't words. I put her in a dress that made me excited to see myself in it (back when I could get INTO the damned thing) which was white and boobilicious. We added the white witch hat and the white feathered wings, plus my new schtick to go with them:
"Don't be silly, didn't you *know?*. Martyred witches go STRAIGHT to heaven."
Heh heh heh.

We went to Rivalz which was nice, but none of the usual gang was there. Got to talk to some old and new friends. Had to haul Ms. Bob home so she could get SOME sleep this weekend.

On Sunday I enjoyed my day of REST by rereading an old favorite book and waiting for my SO's plane to arrive.
He had a good time and I think he enjoyed his brief vacation.

All in all, a nice weekend.
Now to brace myself for the onslaught of the Christmas Season.
