Who wants free Greek food?
May. 6th, 2004 11:12 amHey everyone;
There's this lovely little greek restaurant around the corner from me called "Papagallo's". My immediate circle has been enjoying their food for months now. The place is still relatively new, but business is taking off for them.
Still, the guy who runs it wants to do some crazy fun promotion. In casual conversation with him, I had mentioned that I have an acting troupe and do costuming.
He asked me if I knew anyone crazy enough to make a costumed appearance outside the restaurant.
For money. And free food.
(Eeeevil grin.)
For starters, Greek costuming is relatively simple. Now, he approached me about this right around Archon last year. (No friggin' way.) However, he asked me about it again the other day.
So... is anyone up for this? Hanging around a greek restaurant on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, waving a "Gyros" sign and pantomiming for the traffic? If you have a costume, great! If you don't but want to do this, do let me know. I can Chiton you right up.
He suggested all kinds of crazy fun characters from ancient greek myths, such as Medusa or Hercules. (I do have a medusa costume, and I can't see any reason why we couldn't put together a respectable pantheon...) With the imminent release of "Troy" I think it would be fun and profitable.
And did I mention that we'd be paid? And get free food?
Hey,
bradhicks, wanna be a philosopher? (OH, a Bullsh*tter, eh? Didja Bullsh*t last week?)
I still have that vivid mental image of you as a sidewalk post-modern crazy prophet, sandwich in one hand, book in the other as you gesticulate wildly and teach "real" history to anyone who will listen...
