Oh, crap. My politics are showing...

Ok, I don't want to be a comment whore, and I don't want to be a troll.

However, I must admit that I am mystified as to why Bush has supporters. Why does anyone think he should stay president? This is the guy you want representing us? This is the guy you trust to handle foreign matters?

It pisses me off that Bush claims to have a Christian agenda, for two reasons:

1. Separation of Church and State. It is possible to be moral and good and not religious. It is most important that religious dogma OF ANY KIND be kept separate from our government. Everything that is wrong with the Catholic Church came about because the church had power over kings and governments, for centuries.

2. I love God. I am a Christian. I don't believe that Bush has a direct line to Him, though. I don't believe that what he is doing is related to any kind of genuine righteousness. I do not think he is following the footsteps of Jesus. No sir.

His administration is carefully tightening the noose around life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, in the name of "security" and "Patriotism" and "God."

Given the choice, I will take the "life liberty and pursuit of happiness."
If we lose that here, I am going to have to go to some other country.
Maybe I can join the Church of England, Eddie Izzard style.

But if you must take away my cake to prevent death, I say
"GIVE ME BACK MY DAMN CAKE!"

Now, I don't have clearly formed political arguments like bradhicks does. But I frequently agree with him.

Now, here's the deal. If you want to argue with me, or post a counterargument about Bush, go right ahead. I am actually interested in hearing someone tell me why they think Bush should stay president.

But sign your name or no one else will get to read your rant. It's ok to post "anonymous", but sign your name, initials, or location at the bottom of your message. That's what I did when I was posting comments before I joined the LJ community, and you can bloody well do it, too.
