kukla_tkoI will not be attending Conflation this year. Last year I had no money, and a friend was kind enough to buy my badge and let me stay in her room. I will be forever grateful to her for that!
This year I had planned to go, and organize the Conflation Marching Band since this year's theme is "High School."
However.
That was before I managed to mess up my finances this month, and therefore I have no capital with which to buy a badge or even pay for extra gas money.
I have no desire to impose on a friend this year, so I am not going to attend the con.
I am also not attending Visioncon, the weekend before Conflation. Vision Con is in Springfield, MO. Early in that con's life, I was one of the people behind the scenes running things and making things go smoothly. I haven't been in years, and had hoped to go and possibly even make a little money doing Tarot readings and face painting. A friend invited me to stay with her and help her with her dealer's table.
Once again, it is not to be. I don't have the money for gas, and I don't have the money for my share of the hotel.
I hate being broke, and I hate being bad at managing my own affairs.
God. Damn. It.
